Picturing Tools for School 2007 – Page Three

The children know the bus is on its way and wait patiently.

But soon enough someone asks, "Shouldn't it be here by now?"

And then there it is and the unloading begins.

The excitement builds for the children as the bags are upturned and the backpacks spill out.

This is what it's all been about: Kids excited about having a brand new backpack they've picked out for themselves. Kids excited because the backpack is filled with the required supplies – from pencils to paper, from markers to erasers and more. Not "homeless children." Just kids: ready now for that first day of school and a new teacher, new classmates, new friends; ready for new opportunities to be challenged and to learn.

From HCEF, Citizens Bank, the hounsing agency staff, and the children, warm thanks to all who contributed backpacks, school supplies, dollars, and time to the success of Tools for School 2007. We look forward to your participation with us in July and August 2008!
