Kristie Guthrie - licensed psychologist, entrepreneur, and dedicated HCEF trustee - has been a tremendous supporter of HCEF's "Community of Learners" Initiative, providing ongoing professional development seminars for homeless providers at no cost to participants.

This past year she volunteered both her time and her considerable expertise in child psychology to provide trainings for caregivers on Adolescent Anxiety, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Conduct Disorder.

A talented and engaging speaker, Kristie not only provides a scientific framework for understanding causes and symptoms of psychological disorders in children but also dedicates a large portion of her seminars to group problem-solving and stress reduction for caregivers.

These seminars have been attended by child caregivers representing all of HCEF's partnering homeless providers. Participants have consistently and overwhelmingly rated Kristie's presentations highly effective and immediately adaptable as they interact with the children and as they address the specific needs of each child.
